Welcome
to
the
Laboratory
of
Catalytic
Materials.
Our
research
line
focuses
on
the
transformation
of
molecules
derived
from
biomass
into
biofuels
and
high
value-added
chemical
products
through
heterogeneous
catalysis.
In
our
research
group,
we
studied
different
metal
nanoparticles,
sulfides
and
transition
metal
oxides
supported
on
Al

,
SiO

,
ZrO

activated
carbon,
among
others.
In
addition,
for
these
systems
the
effect
of
the
metallic
content
and
the
acid
strength
of
the
supports
in
the
synthesis
of
deoxygenated
hydrocarbons
has
been
studied.
We
have
also
carried
out
kinetic
and
mechanistic
studies
in
batch
reactor
and
continuous
flow,
with
the
aim
of
elucidating
the
type
of
active
sites
involved
in
the
conversion of model molecules derived from biomass.
